The first picture above requires a caption and back story for those not learned in Devin's emotional connection to his blankets. :

Baba made Devin blanket for his second birthday (first photograph evidence of it here, in lower left corner), and it soon became a necessary item for sleep.  Devin knew what fear was - it was to be without his blanket at night.  Nothing like running upstairs at 1AM after hearing "MOM! MOM! MOOOOM!  YOU [inhales through tears] FORGOT [inhales through tears] MY [inhales through tears] BLANKET!!!" and digging it out from the side of the bed.  By the time he was napping at school, a second identical blanket was reverse engineered down to the size, color and stitch - so that Devin could have a seamless and unknowing transition between the two in case there were any logistics issues with school.  After a few months, Devin caught on to the fact there were two blankets, and soon after he was sleeping with both.

Periodically, there are nights where the dark/boogeyman/bumps-in-the-night are too much, and Devin asks the best way he knows how if he could sleep with us.  On one such tear-filled night, we finally relented and gave him a place of his own next to our bed, then left to go about our nightly TV and cleaning duties.  Upon our return, we found Devin sound asleep, with each of his blankets placed purposefully of mom and dad's pillows - a return of the favor for letting him sleep in our room.
